I joined the University of Minnesota as a librarian in May 2008, but my ties to the U go back a lot farther. I graduated from the U with a BA in Speech-Communication (now the Communication Studies department) and a BS in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics. I used both the communication and the problem-solving skills I learned as an undergrad to build a career designing and developing computer applications and teaching others how to do the same by leading training classes, filming videos, and writing articles.

By 2006, I was looking for a change. I returned to school, earning my Masters in Library and Information Science from Dominican University a couple of days before I started work here.
