- Chicago Tribune (1849-1986)
 Provides historical reporting and analysis of regional, national, and international news. Coverage runs from 1849 to 1985 with new content added frequently.
- Economist Historical Archive
 Presents the world's political, business, scientific, technological and cultural developments and the connections between them. Includes new full-colour images, exportable financial tables, a gallery of front covers highlighting a key topic of each week, supplements, special reports and surveys.
- New York Times (1851-2004, via ProQuest)
 Search content, and view images of pages and articles of New York Times between 1851-2004. The collection includes digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available issue.
- Nineteenth Century British Library Newspapers
 Contains full runs of 48 newspapers specially selected by the British Library to best represent nineteenth century Britain. This new collection includes national and regional newspapers, as well as those from both established country or university towns and the new industrial powerhouses of the manufacturing Midlands, as well as Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Special attention was paid to include newspapers that helped lead particular political or social movements such as Reform, Chartism, and Home Rule. The penny papers aimed at the working and clerical classes are also present in the collection.
- Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers
 Includes digital facsimile images of both full pages and clipped articles for hundreds of 19th century U.S. newspapers. For each issue, the newspaper is captured from cover-to-cover, providing access to every article, advertisement and illustration.
- Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century Burney Collection
 Digital archive covering British news media from the years 1757-1817. The archive contains about 700 newspapers, pamphlets, and books gathered by the Reverend Charles Burney. The contents were published mostly in London, and some were published in English provincial, Irish and Scottish papers, and a few examples from the American colonies, Europe and India.
- Times Digital Archive
 Digital Archive of The Times of London for the years 1785-1985. Full facsimile images of either a specific article or a complete page. The entire newspaper is captured, with all articles, advertisements and illustrations/photos divided into categories.

- Chicago Tribune (1849-1986)

- New York Times (via LexisNexis)
 1980 to current. January 1, 1969 to May 31, 1980 contains abstracts only.
LEXIS-NEXIS contains the final city edition Monday-Saturday, and the Sunday Times, including special sections like the Sunday Magazine.
- New York Times (1851-2004, via ProQuest)
 Offers full page and article images with searchable full text back to 1851 (it was called New York Daily Times from 1851-1857). The collection includes digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available issue.
- St. Paul Pioneer Press
 1988 to current. Besides articles about the Twin Cities, coverage includes western Wisconsin and the state of Minnesota. Due to recent legal restrictions, free lance authors may not be included in the online version.
- Wall Street Journal
 1984 to current.
Database version from Proquest includes business and financial news and analysis, company news, regular columns, special reports, articles on the national and world economy, editorials and opinion, interviews, and Reuters news stories. Excludes charts and free standing tabular data, such as stock tables and other exchange listings.
- Washington Post (pre-1997 - access via Proquest Newsstand)
 This resource is licensed by the MINITEX Library Information Network with state appropriations from the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office (MHESO) and the Minnesota Department of Education. Full text coverage from 1987 to 1996.

- LexisNexis Academic
 Complete text of articles from many regional, national and international newspapers. Also includes wire services, broadcast transcripts, international news, and non-English language sources. Beginning date varies by title. Some titles begin as early as 1977.
- ProQuest Newsstand
 Includes the complete text of articles on current events and news from national and international sources. Archival coverage starts in January 1995 for most papers and reaches as far back as 1986 for others.
- Factiva
 Full text source of global news and business information, major daily newspapers, newswires, academic and trade journals, magazines, transcripts of media programs, web sites, images. Covers multiple-language content of 9,000 sources from 152 countries in 22 languages. Background and financial information is also available on 25,000 publically traded companies and along with market data on equities, funds, and indices. Search the full-text of the Wall Street Journal and other general, business and trade magazines and newspapers. Limited to 7 simultaneous users.
