What is P2P?Point-to-Point (P2P) is a service that provides delivery of selected, currently available, University of Minnesota Libraries' materials to University libraries on different Twin Cities campuses (West Bank, East Bank, and St. Paul). This service is available at no cost to patrons. Who Can Use P2P?All University of Minnesota students, staff, and faculty with valid U Cards are eligible to use P2P (although faculty and staff may be better served by LUMINA to U). Unaffiliated borrowers (e.g., Alumni Association members, Friends of the Library, Minnesota State Universities students) are not eligible. What Types of Material May Be Sent? Most circulating books are available for P2P delivery. Journals, reference materials, reserve books, and recordings MAY NOT be delivered via P2P. Materials may not be delivered to a library on the same campus from which the request was submitted, e.g., Architecture to Walter, Wilson to Law, Veterinary Medicine to Forestry. How Do I Request a Book for P2P Delivery?Requests may be submitted in person at any circulation desk. Materials may be picked up at the circulation desk where the request was submitted. Patrons may submit requests for up to ten items per day. How Long Will It Take?Generally, requests will be filled within three to five working days. Please check with the circulation desk to determine the status of your request. With the exception of materials delivered to the Bio-Medical Library, you will not receive written notification when your book is available for pick up. If the request cannot be located or is not available for P2P delivery, you will be notified. |
