Get Materials in Microform

After you have done a MNCAT search you need enough information to help you locate the item. You may encounter a variety of different types of call numbers. Simple call numbers may refer to large sets.*

* For large sets with one call number, you will need to know exactly which item you need, in order to find it within the set. Write down the author, title and anything specific such as page numbers, reel numbers, etc. that may help you locate the item. Ask the library staff if you are not sure what to write down. See the Subject Guides to Microform Collections especially in the case of large sets.

Once you have noted the author, title and year of the work you want, it’s time to locate the material. Use the table below and the call number you found in the MNCAT record to find the correct location. Ask a library staff member if you are not sure where to look for your item.
