  Indexing of articles in a specific newspaper is often available on the publisher's web site through its archives. The following web sites provide links to the home pages of individual newspapers.

• 1. Finding out if the U. of M. Libraries own a specific newspaper title.
  
  1. Go to MNCAT under Catalogs on the Libraries web site, www.lib.umn.edu. Click on "Search MNCAT".
  2. Type the title of the newspaper in the "Browse For" box.
  
  Searching for an individual newspaper title in MNCAT can be very confusing. If you can't find the information you need for accessing newspapers by searching MNCAT or using this guide, you may:
  --Go to "AskUs" on the Libraries web site (www.lib.umn.edu), or
  --Call 612-626-2227 (Wilson Information and Reference), or
  --Go to the Wilson Library 1st floor Reference Desk and ask for help.

• 2. Finding newspapers by city, county or state.
  
  1. Go to MNCAT under Catalogs on the Libraries web site, www.lib.umn.edu.
  2. Click on "Search MNCAT". Select "Advanced" search under New Search.
  3. In the first "All Keywords" search field, enter the location, e.g., Denver.
  4. Limit search by Material Type.
  5. Scroll through the materials list and select "Newspapers". Click "Submit".

• 3. Finding newspapers using a complete paper geographic list.
  
  If you are having problems finding a newspaper by city or state via MNCAT, there is a set of blue notebooks in the Wilson 1st floor Reference Desk Collection that lists all Wilson Library newspapers by state and then city. Ask at the Wilson reference (612-626-2227) desk for help finding the blue notebooks.
