Borrowing Materials
Everyone is welcome to use the University of Minnesota Libraries' collections
on-site, including many of our electronic databases.
Additionally, you have access to reference librarians, copy machines, and other
resources to support your learning and research needs. Click here for a list
of libraries in
the University Libraries' system.
- In order to borrow materials directly from the Libraries you will need to
purchase a Friends of the Libraries membership. This membership is available
to individuals and non-profit organizations at a rate of $80 annually, or
a discounted rate of $40 annually, if you are a member of the Alumni Association.
For-profit organizations may obtain borrowing privileges at a rate of $250
annually. For more information, please see the Friends
of the Library website.
- At most libraries on campus you may check out up to 10 items at a time with
your Friends of the Library membership. Books are loaned for 6 weeks with
two renewals, and periodicals for one day with 3 renewals.
