Add MNCAT Lookup to Amazon Searches
February 6, 2008 -- Now fixed! Changes to MNCAT inadvertently broke the functionality of this tool. It has now been repaired. If you have installed a previous version that is no longer working, please re-install the script below.
Have you ever searched MNCAT looking for books you found in Amazon? This new Lookup tool will help streamline that process by showing in your Amazon search whether or not a book can be found in the U of M Libraries! The Lookup tool requires the Firefox browser and the Firefox extension Greasemonkey.
If an Amazon title is not located in the U of M Libraries a link will be provided to search for other editions of the book in MNCAT, the U of M Libraries catalog. Interested? To install this new (and free!) tool just follow these instructions:
How to install the Amazon/U of M Libraries Lookup tool on your computer:
Download and install the Firefox browser
Install Greasemonkey (instructions available)
Install the Amazon/U of M Libraries Lookup tool
(If the "Install" button does not work, try installing the script by clicking on the "Tools" menu in Firefox, then "Greasemonkey" and then "Install User Script."
