Renew Form

  Library patrons can renew materials that they have checked out, extending the due date by which materials must be returned. Please note that you must fill out at least the first title and barcode combination below.

Who can use the service?
Anyone with a Borrowers Card who has checked out materials from a University of Minnesota Library can renew them. University of Minnesota Faculty, Staff, and Students may renew at http://mncat.lib.umn.edu and clicking on “Your Account”

When is the best time to renew?
To avoid a fine, please renew materials on or before the due date. It is best to renew materials shortly before they are due in order to maximize the extended loan. Borrower card users can check due dates by requesting a printed list of your current check-outs at any Circulation Desk. University of Minnesota Faculty, Staff, and Students may check “Your Account” for your item list and due dates.

Journal renewals must be submitted daily.

Materials more than 30 days overdue are considered to be lost by the Libraries. Lost materials may be renewed only by presenting the materials at a Circulation desk.

When will I get a response?
Items will be renewed from the date you renew them, and an email acknowledgement will be forthcoming.

Please make note of the new due date. It remains your responsibility to be aware of the new due date in order that materials are returned or renewed on time.
