Safety is a shared responsibility. Learn what the Libraries are doing to ensure a safe and healthy environment, and what you can do to help.

What you can expect from the Libraries

  • Libraries staff will wear face masks or other personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Plexiglass shields installed at service points
  • Equipment at service points for patrons to check out their own materials
  • Consultations by appointment, conducted via Zoom or other remote technology
  • Hand sanitizer stations near the entrances of each library
  • Cleaning supplies available for you to clean the area before and after use
  • Reduced furniture and computer stations, spaced to encourage social distancing
  • Signs to show capacity in each area or room
  • 3-day quarantine for returned materials (ask at the service desk if you can't find what you're looking for)

What the Libraries expect from you

  • Wear face masks when in Libraries spaces, including study spaces
  • Masks are available for any patron needing one
  • Food is not allowed in Libraries spaces (beverages with closed tops allowed)
  • Wash your hands often following CDC guidelines (check the building directory for the nearest restroom)
  • Observe social distancing recommendations when in the library
  • Wipe down any equipment, tables, door handles, etc. before and after use with the cleaning supplies provided
  • Respect and follow safety procedures, guidelines, directional signage, and instructions from Libraries staff
