Want to attend interesting talks on a variety of subjects? Be invited to special events? Get all this and help support the Andersen Horticultural Library too! Become a friend of the Andersen Horticultural Library, open to all interested members of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. See below for a listing of events. 

Join the Friends today! Join online by selecting an individual membership or a household membership, or download the registration form. Annual dues for the Friends of the Andersen Horticultural Library are $15 for a household. 
 

Benefits include:

  • Twice a year newsletter (Spring and Fall) with articles of interest, communications for the Friends, and a calendar of events.
  • Early access to the annual fall Friends book sale that raises funds for acquisition of rare books, antique catalogs, and other items for the Library.
  • A minimum of five programs annually with speakers on a variety of subjects related to natural history, horticulture, or libraries.

Friends regular meeting. Phyllis Root, author of award winning Children's books, Discovering MN; Learning about the Diversity of Habitats, the Inhabitants and Phenology.  Phyllis Root is the author of several Children's books on the wonders of the natural world.  Her recently released book "One North Star" looks at ten different habitats. Books by Ms. Root will be available for purchase and signing.

Friends banquet with Mira Nakashima, furniture designer and maker. 

July 24, 2017, 1:00pm, Tashjian Bee and Pollinator Discovery Center
Friends annual meeting. Heather Holm, author of two books about pollinators/bees, Common Native Bees: Their Life Cycles and Foraging Behaviors. Ms. Holm's books, one on pollinators and one on native bees will be available for purchase and signing.

Friends Booksale 

Currently we are accepting donations of gently-used books, magazines, DVDs or CDs for our fall booksale. Items should be in gently used condition and brought to the Andersen Horticultural Library during open hours. Thank you for your support.
