Book drop locations

Other return options

Faculty & staff can also return items through Campus Mail, if their department is being served by Campus Mail.

University students, staff, and students living outside the 7-county metro area (Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties) can contact Libraries staff to request a return mailing label.

U of M System (Crookston, Duluth, Morris) campuses are also able to take U of M Libraries books if you are near one of those locations.

Media equipment and laptops

Patrons with SMART media equipment or CFANS/CBS laptops checked out from Magrath Library should schedule a drop off to ensure the security and safety of the items. Contact smart@umn.edu or magrath@umn.edu.
