DASH is a cross-disciplinary initiative from the University of Minnesota Libraries organized around emerging digital tools and methodologies for scholarly, pedagogical, and artistic projects. It seeks to foster collaborations that both utilize and critically engage with methodologies such as:

  • Text and data mining
  • Digital archives
  • GIS and spatial research
  • Data visualization and data arts
  • Digital storytelling
  • Mobile app development
  • Multimodal scholarship
  • Desktop Fabrication, 3D Printing, and Makerspaces
  • Critical code and algorithm studies

Over the coming months, this site will expand to include showcases of projects happening at the University of Minnesota, a curated guide to different tools and methodologies mentioned above, a calendar of monthly events sponsored and co-sponsored by DASH, and much more.

For more information, or to arrange a consultation on a project or course, contact Justin Schell, Digital Humanities Specialist at the University of Minnesota Libraries at dash@umn.edu.
