- E-Science and Data Services Collaborative (EDSC)
This site is designed to assist you in learning about the activities of the E-Science and Data Services Collaborative (EDSC)
- University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy
The University Digital Conservancy is a venue for faculty to deposit copies of their works for long-term preservation and open access, and a centralized, searchable access to institutional digital resources that would have traditionally gone to the University Archives.
- UMedia Archive
The UMedia Archive provides access and long-term support for rich media collections for both the University Libraries and the campus-wide community.
- UL Data Services
This is the home for resources on discovering, acquiring, using and preserving research data. The site covers social sciences data, geospatial data and scientific data. Please see below for discussions of issues surrounding data access, curation and preservation and new data resources.

- Minnesota Population Center (MPC)
The Minnesota Population Center (MPC) is a University-wide interdisciplinary cooperative for demographic research. We are housed in the Office of the Vice President for Research. The MPC serves sixty faculty members and research associates from ten colleges and nineteen departments at the University of Minnesota, and employs nearly a hundred research support staff, including computer programmers and technicians, administrative staff, research assistants, and data-entry staff. As a leading developer and disseminator of demographic data, we also serve a broader audience of some 25,000 demographic researchers worldwide.
- Polar Geospatial Center (PGC)
The Polar Geospatial Center (PGC) is dedicated to supporting and promoting the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) by providing geospatial information to the Arctic and Antarctic sciences, operations, and education communities. The PGC also serves the Arctic and Antarctic as a data resource, map repository, and GIS service provider for researchers.
- Minnesota Supercomputing Institute (MSI)
The Minnesota Supercomputing Institute for Advanced Computational Research provides supercomputing resources and user support to faculty and students at the University. Our mission is to support research in engineering and physical, biological, medical, mathematical, and computing sciences to find solutions to problems that could not be otherwise attempted. Such efforts often result in domain-specific algorithms and codes that exploit the available computing environments as well as visualization techniques to enhance insight, make displays more informative, and add multimedia values for communications and work environments.
- Research Cyberinfrastructure Alliance (RCA)
This alliance has been formed to look at the computational needs of research at the University. Alliance sponsors include the Libraries, OIT, and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
National and International
As a digital repository for the nation's great research libraries, HathiTrust (pronounced hah-TEE) brings together the immense collections of partner institutions. HathiTrust was originally conceived as a collaboration of the thirteen universities of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation to establish a repository for those universities to archive and share their digitized collections. It is now open to others who share this grand vision.
