Frequently Asked Questions

Do the University of Minnesota Libraries have old University of Minnesota Yearbooks?

Answer:

The University of Minnesota yearbook, The Gopher, was published from 1888-1967.

Digitized copies of The Gopher are available in the UMedia Archive. These online volumes are full-text searchable and each yearbook can be viewed cover to cover.

A complete bound set is located in University of Minnesota Archives in Elmer L. Andersen Library on the West Bank. These yearbooks may be viewed on site. Contact University Archives staff to schedule an appointment.

An almost complete set, 1888-1939 and 1941-1965, is located in the Wilson Annex (sub-basement of Wilson Library on the West Bank; check Annex hours before visiting). These yearbooks can be checked out.
