Frequently Asked Questions

Can I return a book/journal at one campus library if it was checked out at another campus library?

Answer:

You can return books to any U of M campus library, regardless of which campus library you checked them out from. When you return book to a different library from where it was checked out, it will be checked in there and returned to the library from which it came. The only exception to this would be Reserve books and Interlibrary Loan books. Those need to be returned to the place from which you got them.

Note:

Please also note that you should not return books to U of M campus libraries books that have been checked out at a public or another college library. The library systems are not linked in a way that would allow for a timely return of such books, and you would be responsible for any late fees.
