Frequently Asked Questions

What can I request through interlibrary loan?

Types of materials available through interlibrary loan include books, dissertations, government publications, and photocopies of articles. Current periodicals or newspapers, rare books, new books, videos, and recordings may be difficult to obtain or unavailable for loan. We make our best effort to obtain materials you request, but cannot guarantee that your request will be filled successfully.

Need a Textbook? When possible, Interlibrary Loan will try to borrow required readings. Materials borrowed from the Big Ten Libraries carry a 13 week loan with at least a 4 week renewal. Other lending libraries may only lend items for 4 to 6 weeks, which may not be be sufficient for use in a course.
