What are my options for pickup and delivery of interlibrary loan materials?
We offer circulation for interlibrary loan material from six campus libraries and the University of Minnesota Duluth and Rochester campuses (see list below). Faculty and staff may request delivery to their campus address. You can change your preferred pickup location in your ILLiad account.
Note: Materials circulating from any location on campus, except Wilson, require two business days transit time.
Circulating materials requested by faculty and staff are delivered to the campus address provided within your ILLiad account. Students with disabilities may request their materials be delivered to them, on campus. Restrictions placed by the lending libraries may prevent mailing some items.
Off campus delivery (outside of metro area)
Off-campus delivery is available upon request and agreement to pay the following fees: Book delivery off campus: UPS Ground delivery is $5 plus $1 per additional item in package. Patron also pays return shipping charges. Patrons registered with Disability Services are not charged for home delivery.
Off campus delivery through interlibrary loan is available for both ILL and circulating University of Minnesota materials.
Extension, Research and Outreach Centers, Itasca* and Hormel Institute
There is no charge for delivery to University of Minnesota Extension offices, ROCs, the Itasca Biological Station Library and the Hormel Institute. Items will be delivered with a pre-paid UPS return label. ILL will provide access to materials available on the Twin Cities campus and those acquired through interlibrary loan.
*Itasca researchers should enter a note in each ILLiad request indicating that they are currently in Itasca.
