How does one arrange a GRE, TOEFL or proctored exam?


GRE (Graduate Record Exam)

To arrange an exam call 1-800-473-2255 or visit the GRE website.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

To arrange an exam visit the TOEFL website. If the website is down, you can call 1-800-468-6335.

Proctored exams

The University of Minnesota Libraries does not offer exam proctoring.

The U of MN CCE Student Support Services office proctors exams for U of M Independent and Distance Learning students. Contact them at Independent and Distance Learning office, 612-624-4000 or 1-800-234-6564. More information on finding other qualified proctors are described under "Other Acceptable Proctors" in this CCE page.

Students who are not registered at the University of Minnesota have other options:

Adult Options in Education

Adult Options in Education can do online exams and paper / pencil exams for any students who want to come in. They do not have to be residents of our area. They charge $25 per session but can discount that if there are a series of tests for a course and the appointments are made (and paid for) ahead of time.

They ask that students call (952) 988-5343 to make appointments at least 48 hours in advance.

MnSCU Proctoring Services

Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) has a list of test proctoring locations throughout the state that are available to their students.
