Frequently Asked Questions

What does the word "obsolete" mean as part of a call number?

Answer:

This is a temporary designation for a number of books which are missing but have not yet been declared lost. In many cases there will be other copies in our system, but if the only copy of a book you want is so listed you will need to explore other options, such as ordering a copy from another (non-U of MN) library via Interlibrary Loan.
