Where can I get help with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests?

Answer:

FOIA.gov is the official portal for federal FOIA information. Additional resources are available from:

  • The National Security Archive (NSA) at George Washington University
  • Public Citizen - useful for state level FOIA information too
  • FOIA Advisor - includes aggregated lists related to FOIA, including how to make requests, guidance from various federal agencies, legislative history, news related to FOIA, FOIA regulations from federal agencies, and FOIA reading rooms which contain records federal agencies have made openly available.
