Chiefly through the archives of the East India Company and the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, the British Online Archives has a wealth of primary material relating to Britain's global presence from the eighteenth century onwards in countries such as colonial America, South America, India, parts of Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In particular relating to India, the British Online Archives has records with regard to British rule between the mid-eighteenth century until the turn of the twentieth. In addition, there is a strong emphasis on slavery which includes the infamous Triangular Trade.
