Thomas Heggen Collection
The Heggen Collection specializes in literary criticism and the history of journalism. This specialized collection is located in Room100 of Murphy Hall and supported with funds generously donated by the alumni of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. If you have questions about this collection, please contact the staff at the Sevareid Journalism Library.
The collection is named after Thomas Orlo Heggen, a 1941 graduate of the University of Minnesota who was the author of the book and play called Mr.Roberts. The book was later made into a film. Thomas Heggen was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Dec. 23, 1919 and died May 1949. His support helped to start a collection of books on literary journalism.
