Financial Information
Many public companies make their annual reports freely available on their websites. Look for a link called "Investor Relations".

    Profiles of public corporations around the world that includes summaries, company histories, property, financials, subsdiaries, joint ventures, long term, press release and historical annual reports. Licensed for 60 simultaneous users
  • NetAdvantage Authentication Required
    Industry overviews, rankings and comparative statistics for major industries in the United States. Detailed information about public companies--annual reports, stock reports, bonds, valuation, and financial statistics. Includes the Register of Corporations, Directors, and Executives for locating private and smaller companies.
  • SEC: Corporate filings from the US Securities and Exchange Commission
    The SEC requires all public companies (except foreign companies and companies with less than $10 million in assets and 500 shareholders) to file registration statements, periodic reports, and other forms electronically through this site (formerly called EDGAR). Anyone can access and download this information for free. Here you'll find links to a complete list of filings available from the SEC and instructions for searching the SEC database.

Thomson ONE brings together company information from a variety of sources that are produced by Thomson Reuters.   • MarketLine Reports (formerly Datamonitor) Authentication Required
    Part of the Business Source Premier Enhanced database, select Company Profiles to locate reports from Datamonitor. These are primarily U.S. public companies. This database contains various reports and articles on companies, industries, and market research. Business Source Premier Enhanced includes articles and other research materials on companies.
  • Hoovers Authentication Required
    Includes company and industry information such as ownership,contact information, business descriptions, locations, history, competitors, employment statistics, sales, Fortune 500 rankings, product lines, SIC and NAICS industry codes, executives and other financial information.
  • PrivCo Authentication Required
    Database of financial data on major privately-held companies. Includes private financials and revenues; private M&A deals and deal multiples, private firm valuations, VC funding, private equity deal history; and private and family ownership data.
  • Passport (Euromonitor) Authentication Required

    This directory is useful for researching the largest public and private companies worldwide. Corporate ownership information on 200,000 of the most prominent companies, subsidiaries and divisions. Includes historical data for the last 10 years on executives, sales, and the number of employees. In addition to address and phone number, each entry includes officer names and titles, corporate affiliation, business type and size of yellow page advertising. Toll free and fax numbers are given for some companies.
  • Million Dollar Database (Dun & Bradstreet) Authentication Required
    A directory of private and public companies in the United States and larger companies worldwide. Use this directory to find companies by NAIC or SIC industry descriptions, size, location, to learn if a company is private or public, to find contact information, and to learn about the parent and subsidiary companies in a corporate family. Licensed for 5 simultaneous users.
  • Register of Corporations, Directors, and Executives Authentication Required
    Part of the NetAdvantage e-resource from Standard& Poors NetAdvantage choose the Company tab. Directories listings for over 50,000 private and public companies limited to those with more than $1 million in sales or over 100 employees. Advanced criteria available for private company searching. Each entry lists sales, products, directory info, officers, and bank information.

    Detailed information about people and organizational strucures for major corporations, nonprofits, news organizations, associations, law firm, courts and local, state, and federal government. Licensed for 2 users at a time.
International Companies
  • UniWorld Authentication Required
    The online version of the print publications: Directory of American firms operating in foreign countries, and: Directory of foreign firms operating in the United States, Uniworld is the authoritative source of information on multinational firms operating around the world. U.S. companies listed have a substantial investment in overseas operations--wholly or partially owned subsidiary affiliate or branch [sic]. Non U.S. companies (foreign firms) listed have substantial investment within the United States.
Analyst Reports for Publicly Traded Corporations
  • Investext Authentication Required
    Investext Plus contains research/analyst reports on companies and industries as well as annual statistical reports of industry trade associations. It delivers full-text reports in their original published formats, complete with charts, photographs and graphics. Investext Plus contains full-text analyst reports from 700 of the world's top investment banks, brokerage firms and trade associations. It contains over 700,000 reports, with thousands of new reports added each week. Historical reports are available back to 1996. Investext Plus also gives users the same research and analysis used at top investment banks, consulting firms and law firms to monitor industry trends, track company financials, and research merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Value line investment survey (Online)
    The Value Line Investment Survey is a comprehensive source of information and advice on approximately 1,700 stocks, more than 90 industries, the stock market, and the economy. It has three parts: The Ratings & Reports section contains one-page reports showing Value Line's Timeliness, Safety, and Technical ranks, financial and stock price forecasts for the coming 3 to 5 years, an analyst's written commentary, and more. The Summary & Index contains an index of all stocks in the publication as well as many up-to-date statistics. It also contains a variety of stock "screens" designed to help investors identify companies with various characteristics. The Selection & Opinion section contains Value Line's latest economic and stock market forecasts, one-page write-ups about interesting and attractive stocks, model portfolios, and financial and stock market statistics.

  • S&P Capital IQ NetAdvantage Authentication Required
    Overviews, rankings and comparative statistics for major industries that provides detailed information on public companies such as stock reports, bonds, stock valuation annual reports, and other detailed fianancial statistics. Financial Ratios
Use these financial ratios to determine how your company's ratios match the industry norms.
  • Key Business Ratios Authentication Required
    Key Business Ratios, from Dun and Bradstreet, help you to assess how a business is doing compared to an industry or a competitor. The 14 key business ratios cover the critical areas of business performance --solvency, efficiency and profitability. They are broken down into median figures, with upper and lower quartiles. Ratios are arranged by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Codes -a four-digit number that classifies business establishments by defining the industries in which they do business.
Historical Financial Information on Corporations
  • Mergent WebReports Authentication Required
    Documents covering public corporations in over 100 countries. MergentWeb contains all the historical information recorded in Moody's Manuals dating back to the early 1900s. This archive is an excellent source of corporate history, business descriptions and financial statements.
  • ProQuest Historical Annual Reports Authentication Required
    Database offers corporate annual reports for U.S. companies from 1884 to the present. Key data (financial, Fortune 500 ranking, industry classification, key people, geographic location, auditor, and related companies) are indexed in the citation and can be searched. Reports can be browsed by company name, industry or date. Cross-searchable to other historical periodical databases.
  • Applied Science & Business Periodicals Retrospective Authentication Required
    Indexes seven decades of articles on important events, issues and trends in the history of business and industry (including the complete file of Industrial Arts Index (1913-1957), plus historical sources in the applied science and technology field for the 20th Century. Covers more than 2,000 periodicals that include more than 4.5 million articles. An excellent resource for tracking down important studies, exploring historical controversies, finding papers by innovators, researching the development of a particular technology, and more.
  • CompactD SEC
    CompactD SEC provides reports on publicly held companies. Company profiles include descriptions, address, state of incorporation, stock exchange, ticker symbol, primary and secondary SIC codes, number of shareholders, number of shares outstanding, number of employees, etc. The bulk of each report is comprised of financial information taken from the quarterly and annual financial statements including key ratios, and summary stock price, ownership and dividend figures with previous 5 year comparison data. Data is compiled from SEC filings. Because the same format is used on all the disks, you can use them to get a series of statistical data on corporations in the U.S. from the 1980s through 2003. CDROM is only available on Business Reference workstations.

    Worldscope Disclosure is the companion database to Compact D/SEC covering international markets. Worldscope Disclosure provides similar information as that described for Compact D/SEC but for publicly-held companies trading on exchanges in other countries outside the United States.
