    This database has been cancelled effective 9/30/2014 Intended for the undergraduate researcher, Issues and Controversies@FACTS.com is a reference database that combines objective analysis, and opposing points of view on current and controversial topics. Includes coverage of more than 250 controversial topics in the news. Each report includes chronologies, illustrations, maps, tables, sidebars, bibliographies and contact information.

      Academic Search Premier provides full text for scholarly publications, magazines and newspapers. Coverage spans virtually every area of academic study and dates as far back as 1975.

      LexisNexis Academic is a full text databases of business, legal, news, magazines, and wire services. It includes sources for accounting, environmental studies, health and medical care, government and politics, people, and consumer information. Legal publications include law journals, federal and state statutes, codes, cases, agency rules & regulations, patents and legal reference materials.
    • Ethnic NewsWatch Authentication Required
      Full-text articles from over 300 American ethnic and minority newspapers including Asian-American, Jewish, African-American, Native-American, Arab-American, Eastern-European, and other multi-ethnic communities. Coverage dates back to 1990.

    An excellent set of links from Sociosite including entries on Activism, Collective Action, Social Movements, Utopianism, Power & Politics, Conflict & Cooperation and TeleDemocracy.
  • Center on Religion and Democracy
    The Center is a nonpartisan research center which looks at democratic culture. Use the 'Library; option to view primary texts and documents relating to social theory, religion, and legal issues. Documents include de Tocqueville's Democracy in America and works by Hume, St. Augustine, Hobbes, Emerson, Durkheim, Bacon Malthus, Hadden, Mill, Locke and many others.

    RefWorks is a web-based citation manager that allows you to create your own databases of citations by importing references from MNCAT and other databases, and then in seconds automatically generate bibliographies in all major styles (MLA, APA, Turabian, Chicago, etc.).
