  • Television and Radio Ad Rates
    For TV, the audience measurement rating is the Nielsen rating; for radio, it's the Arbitron rating. Use the CPP (cost-per-rating-point) and audience measurement rating to make this calculation. See this guide from Marquette University for more information. Hennepin County Library currently has copies of the SRDS TV and Cable Media source.

    Article database that includes many trade magazines, which are sources of information about campaigns for products in their industry. Includes articles from magazines such as Advertising Age and Advertising Age.

  • AdForum (Advertising) Authentication Required
    Video and images for advertisements produced for television, cinema, magazines, outdoor, and digital, along with audio recordings of radio advertisement. Covers the work of agencies worldwide with interviews for case studies, packaging, branding and design for major brands. Use this database to research advertisements by agencies, advertiser, brands, campaigns, or creative staff.
  • Coloribus Authentication Required
    Archive of commercial advertising for all media from around the world. Each advertisement includes detailed credits information and description. Search by advertiser, product, brand, release date, country of origin, and creative credits, among other attributes. Includes advertisements from TV and cinema, print magazines and newspapers, outdoor billboards and posters, online, direct marketing, radio, and others. Also includes information on advertising festivals and awards from 1969 to present. UMN students and staff create an account to use personalized features.

    AdViews is a digital archive of thousands of vintage television commercials dating from the 1950s to the 1980s from Duke University.

    Archives of past winners of the international advertising competition for One Show awards in design, interactive, entertainment and college competitions.
  • One Show Interactive
    One Club sponsors international competitions among agencies, colleges, and universities to collect winning advertisements for interactive media. Images and descriptions of One Show winners for interactive, print, and video advertisements can be viewed on the One Show website.

  • Cannes Lions Archives
    Free viewing of selected winners of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. The library does not subscribe to this service.

  • ComScore Media Metrix Authentication Required
    ComScore is an industry source for web analytics about major online properties. The library subscribes to Media Metrix data that is useful for consumer and audience research and for statistics and rankings of websites. University of Minnesota students and staff need to obtain individual accounts in order to use Comscore. Contact the Journalism Librarian to request an account.
  • Google Adwords
    Online advertising service from Google based on pay-per-click (PPC). Cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM)advertising also available for site-targeted advertisements using text, banners, or other media.
