The MLA International Bibliography is a classified listing and subject index of scholarly books and articles on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics which has been compiled by the Modern Language Association of America since 1926.
To find books and other materials owned by the University of Minnesota Libraries, search MNCAT, the University of Minnesota's online catalog.

- Contemporary Authors Online
A bio-bibliographical guide to current writers in fiction, general nonfiction, poetry, journalism, drama, motion pictures, television, and other fields. Provides complete biographical and bibliographical references for more than 100,000 authors in the U.S. and around the world. This database was cancelled with the subscription end date of November 9, 2016. This entry will be removed in 6-months.
- Dictionary of Literary Biography Complete Online
Begun in 1978, the complete contents are provided on line. The DLB features literary biographies written by recognized literary scholars and critics. Entries feature profiles of past and present authors, historians, journalists, screenwriters, publishers, and playwrights. Also included are essays on publishing houses and literary topics.
