Access to Psychological and Educational Tests
  • Commercial tests
    Published Tests: Many tests are commercially published and are sold via the test publisher's website.

    Access to tests may be restricted to those with professional standing with verifiable credentials (for example: licensed psychologists). Refer to the publisher's website for details on credentials required for access to specific tests.
  • Unpublished tests
    Unpublished tests are those which are not available commercially. Information about these tests may be found in journal articles, monographs, or from the test author.

  • Test Link: ETS Test Collection Database (Educational Testing Service)

    The Test Collection at ETS (TestLink) is a database of more than 25,000 tests and other measurement devices most of which were created by authors outside ETS/ With information about tests from the early 1900s to the present, the Test Collection at ETS is the largest compilation in the world/ Some are available Tests in Microfiche (TIM), housed in the Wilson Library Reference Room (Microfiche Set 129). Only those identified as: Test Acronyms... TIM are available on microfiche. The microfiche are arranged numerically by the numbers given each title in the database. The other 19,000+ tests are available from ETS or other sources. To obtain a list of the whole TIM Collection from the ETS Test Collection Database, select Test Acronyms as a search method & click search. Then enter TIM* in the search box.

    Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print, from the Buros Institute, contains the most recent descriptive information and critical reviews of new and revised tests from the Buros Institute's 9th and more recent Yearbooks. It offers evaluations of the latest assessments in education, psychology, business, law, healthcare, counseling, and management. In addition to test reviews, descriptions of the purpose, target population, administration, scores, price, author, and publisher for all listed tests are provided. Reviews are written by highly qualified professionals with expertise in a range of disciplines.
    Beginning in 2010, the database provides a comprehensive record that combines the full text reviews with the citations from the print publications: Mental measurements yearbook; and: Tests in print.

      Many books contain information about educational & psychological tests. One way to search is to do a keyword search using the name of the test. Other search terms to use include: educational measurement, educational tests and measurements, occupational aptitude tests, personality assessment, psychological tests, psychiatric rating scales, psychometrics, scaling social sciences, and vocational interests testing.
