Environmental and Natural Resources

  • U.S. Forest Service - This agency manages public lands in national forests and grasslands.

  • Natural Resources Conservation Service - United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This website site includes wide variety of maps, publications and data on land use topics such as agricultural productivity, cropland, grazing land, land cover, soil erosion, soil quality, etc.

  • Web Soil Surveys (WSS) - USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Provides soil data and information produced by the National Cooperative Soil Survey. Provides access to the largest natural resource information system in the world. NRCS has soil maps and data available online for more than 95 percent of the nation’s counties and anticipates having 100 percent in the near future.

  • Published Soil Surveys for Minnesota - USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

  • National Climatic Data Center - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Provides climate and historical weather data, information and reports.

  • Maps, Imagery, and Publications - United States Geological Survey (USGS). United States Department of the Interior.
