About

Rebecca Gillette is an Associate Director and the Community Engagement Lead for Mapping Prejudice. Her work focuses on shaping the relationship between the project team and its community partners and stakeholders, including designing, recruiting, leading, and assessing a new Community Fellows program. She is a veteran community engagement professional with deep knowledge of Black and Indigenous history in Minnesota and practical experience with the co-creative process central to public history. Prior to working at Mapping Prejudice, she was the Manager of Community Engagement at the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS), where she focused on establishing and building relationships with the Twin Cities African American community. She supported community initiatives defined and designed by Black leaders and community organizations, was a member of the Equity and Inclusion Council, and worked with three internal colleagues to co-produce the initiative, Black History Black Voices.
