Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find information on private companies?

Answer:

Private companies do not generally disclose information other than what is available on their websites. There are few sources of information about private companies, which do not sell stock to the public and therefore do not report to the Securities Exchange Commission.

Brief information about the size, location, and industry of private companies can be found using business directories. Articles in newspapers and business publications may also have information about private companies. Search business article databases by the name of the company. You may need to adjust your search strategy to include any mention in the full text of the article.
