Examines the philosophical and ethical issues underlying contemporary and historical environmental issues, policies, and debates. Covers concepts, institutions, topics, events and people, including global warming, animal rights, environmental movements, alternative energy, green chemistry, industrial ecology, and eco-sabotage.
Public Opinion Resources
iPOLL is a collection of polling sources from the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research. It includes surveys from 150 polling organizations that include all major news outlets, Gallup polls, and other research institutions. Use these polls to compare public opinion from 1935-present on a range of issues.
Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. It conducts public opinion polling, demographic research, media content analysis and other empirical social science research. There are seven project areas to find reports, polls, and data sets: Center for the People and the Press, Project for Excellence in Journalism, Social and Demographic Trends, Forum on Religion and Public Life, Pew Internet and American Life Project; Hispanic Center, and the Global Attitudes Project.
Polling the Nations is an online database of public opinion polls containing the full text of 500,000+ questions and responses, from 14,000+ surveys, conducted from 1986 through the present in the United States and more than 100 other countries around the world.

Periodical and Newspaper subscriptions
Full-text news for over 9,000 sources including U.S. and international news sources, major wire services, and hundreds of local broadcasting outlets and blogs. Provides unique coverage of local news outlets, including over 100 Minnesota sources. Paid advertisements are excluded. Collections can be searched by specific title, region, state, country, or continent. Mostly English language news coverage with some 200 titles in Spanish, French, Afrikaans and other languages.
Al Jazeera is the only Arabic News Channel in the Middle East offering news coverage 24 hours a day from around the world with focus on the hottest regions of conflict. Founded in 1996, and based in Qatar, the Al Jazeera focuses primarily on news coverage and analysis. Programs are devoted to various topics including Politics, Business, Culture, Sports, and Health. Programming also includes a wide selection of political talk shows and documentaries with uncensored debates and free arguments covering events as they happen. This source contains noteworthy segments that are translated and transcribed.
