Finding aids are descriptive guides or inventories that have been created by the archivist to provide information about the contents of the collections.

The finding aids listed on this page cover the bulk of the collections in the Northwest Architectural Archives. However, there are no finding aids for some of the collections, and most of the finding aids listed below do not contain complete documentation of the holdings.

If you are searching for information about a specific building and you know the name of the architect, you may find that browsing through the "working drawings" sections of the individual finding aids to be of use. However, researchers should be aware that many design drawings are located in collections other than the one received from the firm or individual who produced the drawings.

We urge researchers to call or write to the Northwest Architectural Archives for further information about their topic.
