Guthrie Theater Archives Preservation and Access:
The University of Minnesota Performing Arts Archives is pleased to announce that it are is recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to arrange, preserve, and describe the records of the Guthrie Theater’s archives. This $100,000 grant will allow the University of Minnesota Performing Arts Archives to bring processed and unprocessed materials in the collection to current archival standards, and to increase access to the collection by creating a detailed online finding aid. The project will also allow for the creation of a forward-thinking records management plan, in collaboration with Guthrie staff, to address the preservation of born-digital records.

Umbra Search African American History makes African American history more broadly accessible thorugh a freely available widget and search tool, umbrasearch.org; digitization of African American materials across University of MInnesota Libraries' Archives and Special Collections; and support of students, educators, artists, and the public through residencies, workshops, and events locally and around the country. Umbra Search is developed by the Givens Collection of African American Literature.
