The data that we produce in our research can grow dramatically. Without a clear plan on how to manage our data before we begin the collection process, our files, raw data points, documentation logs, and simulations can quickly overwhelm and become a headache. In this session of the Data Management Series, we will inventory the information you will be managing and describe how not to loose your data by demonstrating proper storage and backup solutions to securely house these data.
Flipped classroom: before attending, participants will watch a four minute video on data types, storage and backup so that in class, we can focus on hands-on participation and activities. Participants that attend all five data management sessions will receive a Certificate for their UMN training records. See more information on our course website at http://z.umn.edu/datamgmt14. Audience: Graduate students currently enrolled at the UMN.
To request disability accommodations, please contact the instructor at least one week prior to the workshop.
