The ISI Web of Knowledge provides the Web of Science interface for institutional sitewide access to the ISI Citation products which cover over 8,000 international journals in the sciences, social sciences, and the arts and humanities. Titles of the print equivalent are: Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Book Citation, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Science Citation Index.

Find full text articles in academic journals or books on the arts, humanities, social sciences, and sciences. JSTOR provides articles from the date of each journal's initial publication to recent issues. In some cases the latest several years may not be available.

It includes sources for accounting, environmental studies, health and medical care, government and politics, people, and consumer information. Legal publications include law journals, federal and state statutes, codes, cases, agency rules & regulations, patents and legal reference materials.

Mergent BondViewer is a financial industry database for US taxable and municipal bonds. We have access to these modules: Corporate Bonds, Municipal Bonds and Retail Notes. Use it to search for bond ratings (including ratings from Moody's, Standard and Poor's and Fitch), issuer name, issue description, ticker, coupon, and maturity date.

Thomson ONE brings together company information from a variety of sources that are produced by Thomson Reuters. Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is the leading, comprehensive, web-based business data research service used by academic, government, and non-profit institutions. Developed in 1993 to support faculty research at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the service has since evolved to become a common tool for research for over 280 institutions around the world.

WRDS supports a global research community of over 20,000 users in 27 countries. This hosted data service has become the locus for quantitative data research and is recognized by the academic and financial research community around the world as the leading business intelligence tool. It provides access to more than 60 terabytes of financial data.

The WRDS databases are not licensed through the U Libraries. They are licensed through the Carlson School of Management. Use of the databases is restricted to Carlson School of Management students and employees.

NetAdvantage also includes investment services such as the advisory newsletter Outlook and screening directories for stocks, bonds and mutual funds. The Value Line Investment Survey is a comprehensive source of information and advice on approximately 1,700 stocks, more than 90 industries, the stock market, and the economy. It has three parts: The Ratings & Reports section contains one-page reports showing Value Line's Timeliness, Safety, and Technical ranks, financial and stock price forecasts for the coming 3 to 5 years, an analyst's written commentary, and more. The Summary & Index contains an index of all stocks in the publication as well as many up-to-date statistics. It also contains a variety of stock "screens" designed to help investors identify companies with various characteristics. The Selection & Opinion section contains Value Line's latest economic and stock market forecasts, one-page write-ups about interesting and attractive stocks, model portfolios, and financial and stock market statistics.

Primary Source Materials

Reports

Database offers corporate annual reports for U.S. companies from 1884 to the present. Key data (financial, Fortune 500 ranking, industry classification, key people, geographic location, auditor, and related companies) are indexed in the citation and can be searched. Reports can be browsed by company name, industry or date. Cross-searchable to other historical periodical databases.


Statistics and Data

Corporate Financials

Documents covering public corporations in over 100 countries. MergentWeb contains all the historical information recorded in Moody's Manuals dating back to the early 1900s. This archive is an excellent source of corporate history, business descriptions and financial statements.


Data Resources

Compact Disclosure provides reports on publicly held companies. Company profiles include descriptions, address, state of incorporation, stock exchange, ticker symbol, primary and secondary SIC codes, number of shareholders, number of shares outstanding, number of employees, etc. The bulk of each report is comprised of the quarterly and annual financial statements including key ratios, and summary stock price, ownership and dividend figures with previous 5 year comparison data. Data is compiled from SEC filings. CDROM is only available on Business Reference workstations.

Worldscope Disclosure

Worldscope Disclosure is the companion database to Compact D/SEC covering international markets. Worldscope Disclosure provides similar information as that described for Compact D/SEC but for publicly-held companies trading on exchanges ouside the United States.


Statistical Resources

The Global Financial Database is a collection of financial and economic data provided in ASCII or Excel format. There are 20,000 historical or current data series which may be downloaded directly from the web site. Global coverage includes stocks, bonds, treasury bills, interest rates, commodity prices, CPI, GDP, exchange rates, indexes, population and more.Choose "Login Anonymously" for library access.
