Begun in 1978, the complete contents are provided on line. The DLB features literary biographies written by recognized literary scholars and critics. Entries feature profiles of past and present authors, historians, journalists, screenwriters, publishers, and playwrights. Also included are essays on publishing houses and literary topics.

The Logos Dictionary provides over 7 million citations to words in Italian and about 30 other languages. If a word is typed in the searching area,any web pages that include that word are found on the web, and the user can read the context in which the word appears in the web pages retrieved. This source does not present a definition of the word as in a print dictionary, only web pages where the word is used. It is also possible to hear the pronunciation of various words in the dictionary by pressing on an icon of a speaker.
