A bibliographical resource offering coverage of hundreds of the world's foremost academic and popular film journals right up to the present day. Many of these key titles are available here in full text including complete runs.

Contains all of the content available in International Bibliography of Theatre & Dance as well as full text for 100 titles, including Canadian Theatre Review, Dance Chronicle, Dance Teacher, Modern Drama, PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art, Research in Dance Education, Research in Drama Education, Studies in Theatre and Performance, TDR: The Drama Review, Theater, and many more. LLBA covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Complete coverage is also given to various fields of linguistics including descriptive, historical, comparative, theoretical and geographical linguistics.

The MLA International Bibliography is a classified listing and subject index of scholarly books and articles on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics which has been compiled by the Modern Language Association of America since 1926.


Indexes, Other

This web portal combines three research databases in the film studies area: FIAF International Film Database Plus (info), AFI Film Catalog (info), and Film Index International (info).

LitFINDER provides either the full text or a citation to a print source in which to read any of 125,000 poems, 5000 stories, 2800 essays, 1000 plays, and 1800 speeches, with new material added regularly.

I Libri Database Plus is an up-to-date and comprehensive bibliographical resource for Italian books relevant to academic libraries published from 1985 to date; in addition, there are over 7000 tables of contents for records, and this number continues to grow. Le Revista Database is the most complete and up-to-date source of information on Italian periodical publications in all subject areas.

For over 100 years, IBZ has been documenting scholarship in the humanities, social sciences and related fields. IBZ contains more than 3.2 million journal articles from 10,700 journals and other publications from 40 countries in more than 40 languages.

Biographical Sources

A bio-bibliographical guide to current writers in fiction, general nonfiction, poetry, journalism, drama, motion pictures, television, and other fields. Provides complete biographical and bibliographical references for more than 100,000 authors in the U.S. and around the world.

Begun in 1978, the complete contents are provided on line. The DLB features literary biographies written by recognized literary scholars and critics. Entries feature profiles of past and present authors, historians, journalists, screenwriters, publishers, and playwrights. Also included are essays on publishing houses and literary topics.

The Logos Dictionary provides over 7 million citations to words in Italian and about 30 other languages. If a word is typed in the searching area,any web pages that include that word are found on the web, and the user can read the context in which the word appears in the web pages retrieved. This source does not present a definition of the word as in a print dictionary, only web pages where the word is used. It is also possible to hear the pronunciation of various words in the dictionary by pressing on an icon of a speaker.

Comprehensive bilingual dictionaries, and unique study materials that provide extra help with learning and using an expanding range of languages including French, German, Spanish and Italian, the site will expand to include many other languages such as Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Polish.
