Since its establishment in 1914, PAIS (Public Affairs Information Service) has chronicled issues in the public debate through highly selective coverage of a wide variety of sources, including references to monographs, periodical articles, notes and announcements, government documents, policy reports and analytics. Addition of the Archive to our current PAIS International database extends comprehensive access to public and social policy information.

This core database for the field of sociology contains information on sociology and social policy worldwide. Sociological Abstracts includes citations from the 1952-present.

Produced by the 25-nation Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), headquartered in Paris, together with the United States' Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the 31 nations of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT), Transport indexes journal articles, technical reports and conference papers on surface transportation systems including marine transportation and their components including highway, traffic, transport, road safety, and economic and social aspects of transportation systems.

The complete run of The New York Times newspaper is available in the Periodicals/Reserve area in the basement of Wilson Library and via our online archive. The University Libraries also own a print edition of the Index covering from 1851-present. It includes a subject index to articles in the New York Times giving references to the date, page, and column of articles in the paper as well as brief synopses of the articles themselves.

Designed as a starting place for research, 48 reports per year provide background on current topics of widespread interest. The reports define the issues and include a chronology and extensive bibliographies.

Created by the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library for their "Resources on Minnesota Legislative Issues" series. It is intended to provide an introduction to the topic of light rail transportation in Minnesota.

Official Agency & Organization Websites

Allows you to track current legislation, find bills from 1993 to date, and search the current "Minnesota Statutes", "Session Laws of Minnesota" and the current "Minnesota Rules".

Transportation Research Board is a joint effort of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Research Council. The board works to resolve critical transportation issues facing the nation. Studies have examined highway speed limits, school bus safety, railroad tank car precautions, and ways to reduce crowded conditions at airports.
