Article Databases and Indexes

Academic or Scholarly Articles Subject Indexes

The world's largest academic multi-disciplinary database, Academic Search Premier provides full text for thousands of scholarly (peer-reviewed) publications.

This is a collection of bibliographies of scientific literature in computer science from various sources, covering most aspects of computer science.

Dissertations and theses from over 1000 universities. Doctoral dissertations are indexed for almost all North American graduate schools and many European universities. Masters theses from selected schools only. Provides bibliographic citations for older titles. Abstracts are included for dissertations since 1980 and for masters theses since 1988. Some dissertations, beginning with 1997 publication dates, are available digitally. These include the University of Minnesota and other CIC member universities.

Indexes nearly 600 education journals as far back as 1929. Includes book reviews.

United States and Other Countries: For Education Topics use ERIC CSA for Find It access to U of M e-journals; ERIC is the Education Resources Information Center. It provides access to education-related journal and non-journal literature. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, it provides full citations and abstracts for journal articles, books, curricula, government documents, dissertations, reports, and other educational materials.

Journal Citation Reports provides easy access to data that helps you evaluate and compare approx 8,400 scholarly and technical journals worldwide. Includes the Impact Factor for these journals.

Indexes over 11,000 international journals in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Titles of the print equivalent are: Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Book Citation, Science Citation Index, and Social Sciences Citation Index. Coverage runs from 1975 to the present. Basic truncation symbol is the asterisk(*).

Covers all subjects.

Provides bibliographic citations of books, serials, manuscripts, maps, music scores, sound recordings, films, theses/dissertations, and machine-readable data files published worldwide. Provides holdings information for nearly 30,000 libraries. Producer/Publisher is OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc.
