Provides extensive indexing of scholarly and technical periodicals, conference proceedings, and report literature in all engineering disciplines including applied physics, electronics, materials science, and related fields in science and management. Indexes nearly 3000 sources worldwide.

Indexes articles, books, proceedings, reviews, and dissertations on the history of science and technology.

Indexes over 11,000 international journals in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Titles of the print equivalent are: Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Book Citation, Science Citation Index, and Social Sciences Citation Index. Coverage runs from 1975 to the present. Basic truncation symbol is the asterisk(*).

Catalogs & Indexes to Government Publications

Provides citation with abstracts mostly to technical reports relating to aerospace research. Covers NASA documents published since 1962, and NACA documents from 1915-1960. Many of the reports indexed can be found on microfiche in the Science and Engineering Library.

NTIS indexes government-sponsored U.S. and worldwide scientific, technical, engineering, and business-related publications with over 2.0 million bibliographic records since 1964. Contents include research reports, computer products, software, video and audio.

General Indexes to Magazine, Journal & Newspaper Articles

The world's largest academic multi-disciplinary database, Academic Search Premier provides full text for thousands of scholarly (peer-reviewed) publications.

Locate information about companies, including company profiles from Hoovers. Legal publications include federal and state statutes, codes, cases, agency rules & regulations, Shepards Citations service, patent search and other legal reference materials.

Indexes, Other

Provides comprehensive coverage of scholarly literature in the fields of physics and astrophysics, electrical engineering, electronics, computing and control, and information technology. Indexed are primarily journal articles and conference papers, with some books, technical reports, and dissertations. The database provides bibliographic citations plus abstracts.

General Reference Sources

Handbooks and Manuals

A collection of electronic books on various environmental science and environmental engineering topics.

Knovel provides online access to reference books, databases, and conference proceedings from a number of publishers that cover all areas of engineering and includes content relevant to related sciences (e.g., chemistry and earth sciences). It includes interactive graphs and tables and is a good starting point when you need a piece of data quickly.

Physical Property Data

Reaxys provides web-based access to chemical structure, reaction and property information; its contents are derived from Beilstein (organic compounds) and Gmelin (inorganic and organometallic compounds), which date to the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as selected English-language chemical patents (US,EP, and WO) from 1976-present).

Standards

Click the "IHS Standards Expert" link to access the full text ASTM Standards Produced by the American Society for Testing and Materials, this resource provides instant access to the current digital edition of the Annual Book of ASTM Standards. Please note that if you are looking for older or inactive standards, the Science & Engineering Library has the Annual Book of ASTM Standards in print from 1975 to 2006.

Links to standards associations and databases relevant to engineering.
