  • African Americans and the YMCA
    In 2003 the YMCA celebrated the past, present and future of African American contributions and commemorating the 150th anniversary of the first African American YMCA in America.   • YMCA Work in China
    The North American YMCA's work in China began in 1889 and remained extensive until the revolution in 1949. Records document the early organization of the YMCA in China and its work in areas such as public health campaigns, sports and recreation (including the origins of the Olympic movement in the Far East), and education.
