Philip is the Director for Sciences, Agriculture, and Engineering, a department serving the College of Science and Engineering, College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences, College of Biological Sciences, College of Continuing and Professional Studies, Extension, and parts of the College of Education and Human Development. It includes the Andersen Horticultural Library at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska. He came to the University of Minnesota Libraries in 2003 as the Forestry Librarian (2003-2007). Prior to joining the UMN Libraries, Philip worked in the Office of the Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MNSCU) as Project Manager for the MnLINK Project. Before that he worked at Cornell University's Albert R. Mann Library first as Public Services Librarian and Geographic Information Systems Specialist and then as Information Services Coordinator.
