The Breakerspace
Explore, tinker, prototype, learn and share. The Breakerspace in Walter Library is a free-to-use, student run makerspace providing access to a variety of hands-on tools and materials such as craft kits, a sewing machine, 3D printer, button makers, VR Headsets, and more. All majors, years, and skill levels welcome.
Makerspace
The Makerspace in the Health Sciences Library is a free-to-use, student run makerspace providing access to crafting/prototyping supplies as well as 3D printers, sewing machines, laser cutter, hand tools and much more. Our staff teach workshops and provide hands-on help to get started. All students, faculty, staff, and skill levels are welcome.
The Toaster Innovation Hub
Free to use for all UMN students, the Toaster offers reservable spaces for group meetings, workshops, and events; a maker space with hands-on equipment and supplies; and access to all things UMN innovation and entrepreneurship.
1:Button Studios
The 1:Button Studios are fully automated HD video recording spaces with professional studio lighting and sound equipment. They are set up to record high-quality video projects without any knowledge of lights and cameras.
Media viewing rooms
A space that accommodates a group of people viewing media together.
Virtual reality studio
The Virtual Reality Studio is a space that facilitates the use and exploration of virtual worlds for education, research, and patient care. The space is free to all U of M Twin Cities faculty, students, and staff.
Coffee shops
The Wise Owl Cafe (Walter Library, East Bank) and Academic Blend (Wilson Library, West Bank) are closed for the summer.
