About
Kristi Jensen is the Director for the Arts, Humanities & Area Studies Department, Research Service Area (2019- ). She joined the University Libraries in June of 2004 and has filled a number of roles since that time including Physics and Astronomy Librarian (2004-2007), Map Librarian and Geography Liaison (2007-2009), Director, Social Sciences and Professional Programs (Nov. 2009 - January 2013), and Program Development Lead eLearning Support Initiative (2013-2021). She has an interest in providing technological solutions for various library issues and has worked on a number of efforts in this area. Some examples include digital access to historical aerial photos (Minnesota Historical Aerial Photographs Online) and affordable course content options for University of Minnesota faculty and students (resulting in over $2 million in savings). Her co-edited open access book, The Evolution of Affordable Content Efforts in the Higher Education Environment, brings together case studies and examples from higher education professionals across the U.S.
