Archives and Special Collections are open by appointment only, limited to UMN affiliates. Appointments must be made one week in advance of your visit. Contact or the curator of the collecting area you wish to use for assistance. We continue to provide scans of requested research materials when possible, especially for our non-campus clientele.

If you have YMCA of the USA records to transfer, or the papers of a national-level YMCA leader to donate, please don't hesitate to contact us. Please note that the Kautz Family YMCA Archives collects primarily records related to the national level of the organization.

For records of local YMCAs, please see the suggestions on our First Steps page or download a PDF of our brochure on preserving the records of local YMCAs. We also have extensive resources for local Ys available through the kit created for the Y History Project
