  • Paging services
    Paging services at Andersen Library can be arranged by appointment Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Parking
    Nearest accessible parking is located in Lot C86 and Lot C88, north of the building.
  • Building entrances
    Accessible entrances to the building are located on first floor on the south and northwest sides and on the ground (street) level on the north side.
  • Elevators
    The south elevator connects the first floor to the ground floor of Wiley Hall for access to the tunnel system. The north elevator connects the ground floor to the 1st through 3rd floors.
  • Restrooms
    Restrooms are located on the ground floor, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors next to the north elevator.

Health Sciences Library

  • Paging services
    On demand paging from the book and periodical stacks is available through the service desk (Phillps-Wangensteen Building, Floor 5) Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you cannot come to the library during these hours, call the service desk at (612) 626-4045 during paging hours and request the materials be paged and held for you at the service desk. If possible, paging requests should be submitted in advance, either in person or by phone.

    Nearest accessible parking is located in Washington Avenue Ramp.
  • Building entrances
    The main accessible public entrance to library is from the Phillips-Wangensteen Building at Delaware.
  • Restrooms
    Restrooms are located on throughout the Phillips-Wangensteen Building and the Health Sciences Education Center.

Magrath Library

The Magrath Library building houses a variety of collections to support the St. Paul campus as well as a SMART Learning Commons Location.

Access to collections

  • Paging services
    Paging is available during all library open hours.
  • Computers and adaptive technology
    All our public computers have either ZoomText or the accessibility suite of Windows Utilities (ctrl+U) installed. An Adaptive Technology Lab is available in 307 Wilson Library.
  • Parking
    Nearest accessible parking is located in Gortner Avenue Ramp, Lot 104.
  • Building entrances
    There are two entrances to Magrath Library with power-assist doors. On the north side of the building, accessible entry is via the shared doors with Learning and Environmental Sciences on Buford Avenue. On the south side of the building, accessible entry is through the basement-level doors near the Gortner Avenue Parking Ramp.
  • Elevators
    An elevator is located in the main lobby. Access to the basement level from upper floors requires staff assistance, and can be arranged during open hours by visiting the service desk or calling 612-624-2233. The elevator can be called from the basement level.
  • Restrooms
    Accessible restrooms are available on the Basement Level, 1st floor and 2nd floor. A gender neutral, accessible restroom is located at 54 Magrath, exterior to Magrath Library near Classroom 8.

Walter Library

The Walter Library building houses the science and engineering collections as well as a SMART Learning Commons location. This library also houses an Adaptive Technology Lab in Room 103 (first floor computer lab).

Access to collections

  • Parking
    Nearest accessible parking is located in Church Street Garage and surface parking is available on the Pleasant Street side of the building.
  • Building entrances
    There are four building entrances. The wheelchair accessible entrance is located on the Pleasant Street side of the building, with the ramp entrance near Johnston Hall. There is also an entrance from Northrop Mall. There are two additional entrances on the Basement Level from the tunnels between Johnston and Smith Halls.
  • Elevators
    Central elevators access levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; front elevator accesses levels B, 1, and 2; library elevator access levels F, S, B, and 2.
  • Restrooms
    Restrooms are on each floor near the central elevators.

Wilson Library

The Wilson Library building houses the following collections: Ames Library of South Asia, East Asian Library, John R Borchert Map Library, Government Publications, and the Wilson Library general collection. Wilson Library also houses a SMART Learning Commons location. The library also has an Adaptive Technology Lab in Room 307 (3rd floor).

    On demand paging from the book and periodical stacks is available through the service desk on the 1st floor Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you cannot come to the library during these hours, call the service desk at (612) 624-3321 during paging hours and request the materials be paged and held for you at the service desk. If possible, paging requests should be submitted in advance, either in person or by phone.
    Up to three reserve readings can be held for a patron. If possible, call in advance to (612) 624-3321. For further information or to request exceptions regarding the number of items and length of loan period, contact a staff member during daytime business hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
    Students must be registered with the Disability Resource Center to receive paging services.
  • Parking
    Nearest accessible parking is located in the 19th Avenue Ramp and the 21st Avenue Ramp.
  • Building entrances
    There are two public entrances: one on first floor and one at the basement level. Both entrances have automatic doors. A basement tunnel connects Wilson Library to Blegen Hall, Carlson School of Management, Ferguson Hall, Humphrey Center, and Social Sciences Building.
  • Elevators
    Elevators are located in the center of the building and are wheelchair accessible.
  • Restrooms
    Restrooms are located on all floors except the first floor. Basement level restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

    Restrooms are available on all floors except second floor of Vincent Hall. Access to third floor men’s room requires library staff assistance.

There are also bathrooms located one floor down, accessible by elevator, on the second floor of Hodson Hall. The nearest gender-neutral bathroom is located on the fifth floor of Hodson Hall, Room 548.

    The elevator is located in the middle of the building and is ramp-accessible from the second floor through the north entrance.
  • Restrooms
    Restrooms are located on both the east and west ends of the fourth floor. A gender neutral restroom is located on the west end of the fourth floor, Room 428.
