Walter Library East Bank

Walter Library houses resources about physical sciences (e.g., chemistry) and engineering. One of the largest libraries on campus, the central location of this historic building make it a popular choice for students to spend time and study.

Accessibility

Nearest accessible parking is located in Church Street Garage and surface parking is available on the Pleasant Street side of the building. University Parking and Transportation Services provides up-to-date information about transit options, biking, parking, and other campus transportation needs.

There are four building entrances. The wheelchair accessible entrance is located on the Pleasant Street side of the building, with the ramp entrance near Johnston Hall. There is also an entrance from Northrop Mall. There are two additional entrances on the Basement Level from the tunnels between Johnston and Smith Halls.

Central elevators access levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; front elevator accesses levels B, 1, and 2; library elevator access levels F, S, B, and 2.

Restrooms

Restrooms are on each floor near the central elevators.

All-gender restrooms can be found in the sub-basement, room S6, and the foundation floor, room F6.

The Science & Engineering Library collection in Walter houses resources that support research in the physical sciences and engineering disciplines.

Microform collection

We have over 350,000 documents in 18 cabinets that have been reproduced as microfilm or microfiche for high-efficiency storage. They can be viewed and scanned using the scanner located on the north wall of the foundation level (level F) of Walter Library.
